While the Toyota Corolla has been the world’s top-selling small car for years, Businessweek reports that the company is beginning to lose out to competitors who are producing newer, feature-laden vehicles that appeal to consumers.

The Corolla managed to maintain its top spot in 2010, but]sales last year declined by 10 percent to approximately 266,000, only about 5,800 units ahead of the Honda Civic. Analysts say Corollas are still reliable, but its features are largely the same as they always have been compared to models from Ford, Honda and Hyundai that contain technology such as voice-activated controls and connections to computer networks.

The state of Arizona had put forth a proposal for a bill that would have allowed uninsured vehicles to be towed. The bill was called SB 1165 and it was defeated in a final vote of 6 to 7. By law right now, a driver who is involved in an automobile accident while uninsured can still leave the scene of the accident.

Under the bill, these drivers would have had their vehicles towed and impounded because they lacked an insurance policy on them. Because this law was defeated, it will have a big impact for drivers. The main reason behind the defeat was that an electronic database would have been used to verify if a vehicle has up to date auto insurance coverage.

The issue was that between three and four percent of vehicles in the state have the wrong VIN numbers on them.

Ive been working on a life insurance case that was recently approved. The client let me know that he had applied through another agent before he found my blog and decided to give me a shot. I am always certain that Ive quoted the best price available so I have no issue with competition. If I get beat, well, I might learn something and the client gets the best deal.

So, both policies get approved and, while only by a few dollars a month, I came out on top. Actually the other policy was approved about a week before mine which is about the amount of time that application started ahead of mine. The policies were approved at a table 4 rating and is a situation I believe we can improve on in the next few years.

Even though some may not be highly skilled when it comes to car repair, a new survey suggests motorists are increasingly opting to handle their auto maintenance tasks themselves rather than have an expert deal with them.

According to AutoMD.coms* 2012 DIY Report, when respondents were asked whether they were more likely to try to attempt a difficult repair on their vehicle rather than having it serviced at an auto shop, nearly 70 percent of them said yes.
